Mia grew up in a foster home having almost no memory of her birth parents.
The only thing she has to remember them by, is her teddy bear. She always sleeps with it at night, but when she tries to sleep she has nightmares about her mother running away from someone. When she has that dream it seems that they keep getting clearer and clearer. From the dreams she has, it looks like her mother was being shot at, but she doesn't know who's the one shooting at her. It was like someone wanted her to watch her mother die. Every time she dreams of it she wakes up in gasps. Every day Mia sits by herself watching everyone live there normal lives. Children at the foster home don't even go near her because they think she's weird or a freak. But even though they think of her in that way, Mia doesn't care what they think of her, and she careless if they spread rumors about her so no one would take a second look at her. All Mia could think about washer dreams or nightmares that haunt her. One day a group of foster children walk up next to her and sit down as if they were her friends. Mia asked them "Don't you guys think I'm weird or a freak like everyone else here?" and one replied "No, we don't think anyone is, until we get to know them" and she laughed but not in a hateful way, but a very kind one. And the others just smiled in a kind way, and so did Mia. Mia noticed everyone looking at them and there faces showed how unbelievable it was to see these three talking to her the so called "freak" of the foster home. These three spent a lot of time with Mia, but she was afraid that they would find out about her nightmares and wont like her. On a weekend vacation the four of them went to stay with some people the other three knew and so Mia asked "is there a room I can have by myself?
Hi Mirian! I'm a student at Wellesley College. I actually got the chance to experience one of Ms. Delahanty's Circles last week! It was amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love what you have written and want to read more! I would really like to know what happens next in this story. It is very well written, and suspenseful as well.
Keep up the good work! I'm interested to see what happens next.
Hi Mirian -
ReplyDeleteGood work so far with this story. I could really feel Mia's emotions. She has a sad history, but it seems like things are looking up for her. It's written like a mystery story...and like Meghan, I can't wait to see what happens next!
